Welcome

Welcome to Anita Egan Counselling and Psychotherapy. Thank you for stopping by. I’m Anita, a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist with an BSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from PCI College and a BA in Psychology from the University of Limerick. I am currently a Pre-Accredited Member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). I have worked in education for most of my life with a special interest in supporting young people as they deal with issues such as grief and loss, relationships, stress, identity, anxiety and depression.

I now work with adult clients using my theoretical background of person-centred, compassion focused therapy. This means I believe that you are the expert in your life and my role is to walk alongside you as we work together to explore what brings you to therapy. As an Integrative Psychotherapist I draw from many different theories and orientations such as humanistic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and others in order to make our sessions as flexible and as useful as possible.

I welcome all kinds of people, genders and neurotypes. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally and neuro-affirming. You are very welcome to ask for any adjustments you feel necessary such as lighting, seating, extra session length etc. and I will do my best to accommodate you.

I offer short term counselling to individuals who require support navigating a specific issue, and longer-term psychotherapy for those looking to gain a deeper understanding of their life and their patterns of thoughts and behaviours.
